Diamondbacks recall No.14 prospect Dominic Fletcher
Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

From Triple-A Reno, the Arizona Diamondbacks recalled OF Dominic Fletcher in preparation for their series against the Los Angeles Angels.

It appears the Diamondbacks are hoping Fletcher can temporarily fill in for All-Star Corbin Carroll while he misses a few games due to a shoulder injury.

This will be Fletcher’s second stint on the Diamondbacks roster this year, as he saw consistent playing time in May before being sent down. During his first 22 games in the majors, Fletcher recorded a .308 batting average, 24 hits, 10 runs, and 13 RBIs.

While in Triple-A, the 25-year-old saw even more success at the plate. In 35 games, Fletcher recorded a .914 OPS, brought in 20 RBIs and will return to the big leagues with a .325 batting average.

But, this upcoming series against the Angels may mean a little bit more to the rookie.

That is because tonight Dominic Fletcher will face off against his older brother, David Fletcher, who was drafted five years prior.

This will be their first time playing against each other in the major leagues.

The Diamondbacks vs. Angels three-game series will begin tonight at 6:38 PM on Apple TV.
