'The refs can’t call those fouls that they calling…' Anthony Edwards sends warning to Suns ahead of play-off matchup

Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves have settled for a third seed in the Western Conference, as the 2023-24 regular season comes to an end. The Wolves finished the season with a record of 56-26, and after a loss against the Phoenix Suns in their last game, they’ll be facing them in the playoffs for redemption.

Around two months ago, Anthony Edwards was ejected from a game against the Mavericks due to arguments with the referees over calls. Since then, his frustrations with officiating appeared to have subsided. However, as the playoffs approaches, Edwards expressed renewed frustration with officiating after a loss to the Suns and sent a warning to the Kevin Durant led team.

Meanwhile, the referees aren’t the only major threat standing in front of Edwards’ way. The Wolves finished 0-3 versus the Suns this regular season. Having not won a single game against the Suns, the Timberwolves will look to change that in the playoffs.

Also, the Wolves have not gone past the first round for the last 20 years. Playing against the Suns’ stacked roster this year, they’ll be looking to make some momentum going into the playoffs.

All eyes on Anthony Edwards for Timberwolves ahead of the Suns playoffs game

The squad has been led by the 22-year-old Edwards in the absence of their star forward, Karl-Anthony Towns. Out of all, Edwards looks pretty confident heading into the postseason this year.

His past performance has put a lot of expectations on his shoulders, as Ant-Man’s consistency is quite visible even during crunch time. Edwards is putting up 26 points, 5.1 assists and 5.4 rebounds a game on 46% shooting from the field.

However, getting past the Suns won’t be easy. Led by Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal, the Suns have the most scoring trio in the NBA, averaging over 70 points per game. The Wolves couldn’t get hold of them in the regular season. It will be interesting to see how the Wolves plan to take them on, considering the heavy-scoring lineup.

Edwards and KAT have most of the work assigned, as Ant-Man will look to handle the Suns from the perimeter and KAT will have the job to guard the post. The Suns, on the other hand, lost to the Nuggets in the second round last year. Both teams have every reason to advance to the second round, though the odds are slightly in the favor of the Wolves.
